Hello!
Thank you for showing interest in well, one of my interests and my page. I'm Roos and I'd like to take you along while I explore the combination of two of my passions, music and history. How will I do this? This blog will be a collection of my own mini explorations into the historical events which have inspired bands to write about them. And where do they fit in the flow of time?
The idea to start this blog started back around the 2010s, when I was still in secondary school. I tried a couple of studies before landing on my BA History, where I focussed on the Middle Ages. I decided to follow this path after looking into the books I liked to read, the games I liked to play and the music I liked to listen to. Finding a lot of history influenced books, games and a lot of Sabaton and Serenity on my old MP3 and iPods. With this my goal became to afterwards write historical accurate children's books. But a side project I've always wanted to start was this blog. Do I expect it to become a succesfull blog that will bring any wealth? No! Do I expect anyone to ever read this? No! But I'm going to be writing anyways.
After 15 years of listening to historically inspired metal bands and having finished my BA it has become time to delve deeper into the music of the artists that inspired me and probably also find new music, stories and hopefully share some of the backgroundstories depicted in these songs with anyone reading this blog. And if anyone has any music suggestions, story suggestions or corrections, please do share them!
